ATHENS, Ga. (SMU)--Mustang freshman Audra Egenolf took third in the one-meter board Thursday during the first day of the Georgia Diving Invitational.
Egenolf set the tone for the Mustangs by finishing fourth in the prelims, scoring 264.60, behind divers from Drexel, LSU and Purdue. In the finals, Egenolf improved her dives, scoring 277.80, finishing behind Drexel and Purdue. Less than three points separated first through third places.
Egenolf's third-place finish qualified her for the Shootout to be held tonight at 6:30pm (ET).
For the men, Preston Holcombe, Matthew Culbertson and Landon Owen all competed in the three-meter board prelims. Holcombe finished 24th (239.25), Culbertson finished 28th (233.95) and Owen finished 38th (173.50).
