SMU Basketball Single-Game Tickets On Sale Nov. 1

DALLAS (SMU) --- Single-game tickets for 2008-09 SMU men's and women's basketball go on sale on Saturday, Nov. 1 at 10 a.m. The men's basketball squad will have 17 games at Moody Coliseum this season, while the women's squad hosts 15 contests at Moody as they strive to make a second straight NCAA Tournament.
SMU's men will play six of 17 home games against 2008 postseason teams and four games against last season's RPI top-100 including NCAA finalist Memphis as well UTEP, Tulsa, and Illinois State. The home slate opens with the annual SMU Tip-Off Classic from Nov. 21-23 with 2008 NIT participants Illinois State and Alabama State as well as Houston Baptist. The Mustangs host Colorado on Jan. 5 before Conference USA action begins when UTEP visits Moody Coliseum on Jan. 10. In addition to UTEP, Memphis, and Tulsa, the Mustangs host league foes Houston, Tulane, East Carolina, Rice, and Southern Miss. The Memphis and East Carolina contests will be nationally-televised by CBS College Sports.
The SMU women's squad competes with all of the Division I teams in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, including the home-opener Nov. 14 against UTA, a Dec. 14 matchup with North Texas, and Dec. 30 at TCU. The women also celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday with their annual SMU Hoops for the Cure Tournament Nov. 28-29, which includes Sam Houston State, Fresno State, and UNC-Charlotte. In January, the defending Conference USA Tournament champion Mustangs will take on their traditional C-USA foes, including regional rivals Tulsa, Rice, Houston and the regular-season finale against 2007-08 C-USA regular-season champion UTEP.
