Chile Pepper Invitational Results 
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (SMU) - The SMU Cross Country team had another strong showing at the Chile Pepper Invitational Saturday, in Fayetteville, Ark, placing fifth overall. The course was a 6K on the campus of University of Arkansas, involving 34 teams and 267 runners in all.
Individually the Mustangs were very impressive, having four runners finish in the top-25. Silje Fjortoft led the pack, placing 7th with a time of 21:07.30. Mary Alenbratt (21:28.25) finished 13th, while Veronika Blom (21:36.35) and Sara Sjokvist (21:37.67) crossed the finish line in 19th and 21st place respectively.
Other teams competing in the race were No. 20 Texas Tech and No. 22 BYU as well as host-Arkansas. SMU was the top Conference USA school involved, with Tulane finishing 19th.
SMU will return to action on Oct. 31 in Houston, to compete in the Conference USA Championship, where the team will be looking to defend its title after winning the event a year ago.
