DALLAS (SMU) - SMU fell to the No. 11 UCF Knights 1-0 Friday night at Westcott Field. Kim Newsome scored in the 56th minute for the Knights. Becca Thomas recorded UCF's assist on the play.

The Mustangs (5-10-1, 3-5-1 C-USA), were outshot 15-9 on the night. SMU and UCF (13-3-1, 8-1-0 C-USA) both earned four corner kicks.

Sophomore Courtney Webb made five saves on the night, and now has a 0.83 Goals Against Average in the month of October. Lauren Shepherd has now played in SMU's last 749 minutes over the past nine games.

SMU takes the field again on Sunday, October 25 as they host Southern Miss at Westcott Field. Game time is now at 1 p.m.
