DALLAS (SMU) - SMU rolled to a 3-1 victory over Tulsa on Senior Night at Westcott Field. Shelby Hartweck scored a goal and registered an assist in the victory.
The Mustangs (7-10-1, 5-5-1 C-USA), started the scoring in the 18th minute when Kenzie Scovill knocked in a cross from Shelby Hartweck to give the Mustangs a 1-0 lead. Scovill now has a team-leading six goals on the season. Logan May had a volley that found the back of the net in the 33rd minute to double the Mustangs' lead heading into halftime.
Shelby Hartweck scored her fourth goal of the season in the 68th minute, knocking a rebound off a shot by Leslie Briggs to give the Mustangs a 3-0 lead. Tulsa (7-10-2, 4-7-0 C-USA), received a consolation goal in the 85th minute from Shannon Locke, but the Mustangs held on for a 3-1 victory.
SMU awaits the result from the Marshall-East Carolina match to determine whether it will receive entry into the C-USA Tournament. If East Carolina defeats Marshall, SMU will play November 4 at Westcott Field in the first round of the C-USA Tournament.
