DALLAS (SMU) - The SMU men's golf team is tied for seventh and just nine shots back following the first round of the John Burns Invitational at the par-72, 6,916-yard Leilehua Golf Course in Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. SMU carded team 285 and trails leader Arizona (276) after 18 holes.
James Kwon leads the Mustangs after shooting a 5-under 67 and is tied for fourth. Kelly Kraft and Ben Tewes each shot even par and are tied for 39th, while Draegen Majors' and Max Buckley's 74s have them tied for 53rd. Arizona's Tarquin Macmanus leads the tournament at carding a 64.
