College Station (SMU) - Due to heavy rains in the College Station area the past couple of days and another deluge Friday evening, the Texas A&M Invitational has been cancelled due to course conditions.

All measures were taken to try to keep the cross country meet on schedule. Even a revised course was established for weather affected areas during Friday afternoon. However, with more heavy rains throughout Friday evening, the course became unsuitable to compete on. Ultimately Texas A&M officials didn't feel that the integrity of the course could be maintained if competed on under current conditions.

SMU will return to competition on Sept. 19 at the North Texas Invitational in Denton.
