Lisa Seifert Inducted Into St. Francis Hall of Fame

SMU volleyball coach Lisa Seifert was inducted into the St. Francis High School Hall of Fame earlier this month due to her exceptional career playing volleyball, basketball, gymnastics and softball at the school. During her playing career, Seifert earned All-Conference honors in volleyball and softball in addition to being named the basketball team's best defender.
Seifert continued to compete after high school by playing both volleyball and softball at Winona State University. After the completion of her playing days, Seifert entered into coaching. Following an assistant coaching stint at Texas Tech University, Seifert was hired to become the first head coach in SMU volleyball history in 1996.
Seifert remains the only coach in Mustang volleyball history and has led the SMU program to multiple 20-win seasons and into a new conference (Conference USA). Seifert has earned multiple honors during her coaching career, including being named the 2003 WAC Coach of the Year.
This season, the Mustangs have accumulated a 17-5 overall record and are currently second in Conference USA (C-USA). A SMU player has been named as the C-USA's Player of the Week five times this year.
