OKLAHOMA CITY (SMU) - The SMU swim teams competed in the 19th Annual Elite Pro-Am Swim Meet over the weekend. The women's team took first in the college women's division with a score of 264.50, while the men's team came in second in the college men's standings with 127 points.

Juniors Emily Vavourakis and Genny Konicke were the Mustangs' top performers, each winning one individual event and teaming up for medal performances on three Mustang relays.

Vavourakis started off the meet by winning the 50-yard freestyle, clocking in with a time of 23.30. Konicke claimed first in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 55.56. In the relays, the duo paired up to help SMU take first in the 200-yard medley relay (1:45.54), second in the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:28.68) and third in the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:36.45).

Distance specialist Alice McCall earned runner-up honors in the 500-yard freestyle, touching the wall with a time of 4:53.17.

SMU alum Jennifer Blackman earned three third-place finishes (50-, 100- and 200-yard freestyles) as well as three medal finishes on relay teams (200-yard medley relay, and 200- and 400-yard freestyle relays).

For the men, Mindaugas Sadauskas was once again the top performer. The sophomore earned a second place finish in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 20.20. Sadauskas also led two Mustang relays to victory, the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:04.07) and the 400-yard medley relay (3:21.21).

Senior captain Tom Cole continued his strong return, earning runner-up honors in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:02.38). Cole also swam the second leg of the winning 400-yard medley relay.
