EUGENE, Ore. (SMU) - The SMU women's soccer team played to a 0-0 double overtime tie with Oregon Sunday to complete the first road trip of the season. The Mustangs are now 1-1-1 on the year.

The Pony defense was tested early and often as the Ducks fired off 22 shots in the game. Goalkeeper Courtney Webb turned away all of Oregon's five shots on goal to collect her second shutout of the season.

It was a physical, hard fought game. There was a combined 26 fouls between the two teams, and SMU picked up three yellow cards on the afternoon. Senior midfielder Kristin Medeiros was carded in the 43rd minute, the Mustangs received a team yellow in the 55th minute and senior defender Katherine Cox was disciplined in the 66th minute.

The Mustangs return to action at home at Westcott Friday, Sept. 3 when they host St. Louis at 7 p.m. Prior to the match, former SMU players will take to the field at 5 p.m. for the women's soccer alumni game.
