ARLINGTON (SMU) - The SMU cross country team took home runner-up honors at the UTA Season Opener Saturday morning, Sept. 11, at Vandergriff Park in Arlington. The women's team scored a total of 37 points placing them just behind TCU (32). Host UTA (90) was third, Baylor (111) took fourth, North Texas (144) finished fifth and Texas A&M-Commerce finished sixth.
SMU had two runners finish in the top three, with Mary Alenbratt taking second and Lovisa Lindh placing third. Also placing in the top 10 for SMU were Klara Bodinson (6th) and Kathleen Hoogland (9th).

The Mustangs will take a few weeks off before running in the Notre Dame Invitational on Oct. 1.
