SMU Classic Day 2 - Results

DALLAS (SMU) - The SMU women's swimming and diving team placed third at the SMU Swim Classic Saturday night at Perkins Natatorium. No. 6 Texas finished first, with 350 points, while No. 7 Florida took second with 330 points. SMU (257) edged No. 40 Louisville (256.5) for third place honors. No. 13 Virginia (248) and No. 11 Wisconsin (214.5) also competed.
Senior All-American Therese Svendsen was the Mustangs' top performer with two runner-up finishes. The backstroke specialist placed second in the 100-yard backstroke (55.32) and the 200-yard backstroke (1:58.75).
Sophomore Nina Rangelova earned a pair of third place finishes for SMU. Rangelova took bronze in the 200-yard freestyle, touching the wall in 1:48.47, and the 500-yard freestyle, with a time of 4:48.87.
Freshman Isabella Arcila continued her strong run at the Classic as she placed second in the 50-yard freestyle, clocking in at 23.32.
Fellow newcomer Erica Donadon took third in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:03.97).
Freshman Mustang diver Sky Corbett-Methot finished third in the three-meter event with a score of 288.10 and fourth in the one-meter dive with a 230.20.
The Mustang relays picked up huge points for SMU with a second place finish in the 200-yard medley relay (1:42.44) and a bronze finish in the 400-yard medley relay (3:44.48).
SMU hosts North Texas and Wyoming on Nov. 4 at Perkins Natatorium at 5 p.m.
