NACOGDOCHES, Texas (SMU) --- No. 10 Marta Lesniak won the "A Singles" title and Kris Roberts took the "D Singles" championship at the SFA Tournament. Edyta Cieplucha also reached the championship of the "A Singles" in the first event of the year for the Mustangs. Cieplucha and Lesniak then partnered to reach the finals of "A Doubles", falling 8-5 to the top duo from SFA.
Lesniak dropped just three games in her first two matches of "A Singles", winning 6-1, 6-1 then 6-1, 6-0. She then defeated her SMU teammate, Edyta Cieplucha, in the final 6-3, 5-7, 10-2. Just 40 minutes after the singles championship, Lesniak and Cieplucha took the court for the "A Doubles" title. The duo built a 5-1 lead before eventually falling 8-5.
Perri Anderson finished second in "E Singles" after winning two out of three matches in the round robin draw and Erika Marschall took the fourth place in "D Singles" after winning the opening match and losing in the semi-final and the third place battle.
The Mustangs continue the fall action at All-American Tournament in Los Angeles, Calif., on Oct. 6.
