AUSTIN (SMU) - The SMU men's golf team continued a solid run of late with a 10th-place finish at the 14-team Morris Williams Intercollegiate at the par 71, 7,412-yard University of Texas Golf Club on Tuesday.
SMU shot a 921 for the 54-hole event and was led by senior Kelly Kraft, whose stellar final-round 66 catapulted him to a fifth-place finish individually at 220. Kraft defeated eight top-100 golfers with his showing, including 23rd-ranked Andrew Putnam of Pepperdine, who shot 232.
Texas won the event by two strokes over Texas Tech at 892. Tom Hoge of TCU was individual medalist with a three-day total of 2-over 215.
