SAN ANTONIO, Texas (SMU) - The SMU cross country team finished in fifth place Friday at the UTSA Ricardo Romo / Six Flags Fiesta Texas Classic.

Individually, Aasha Marietta led the Mustangs coming in 11th place out of 79 runners with a time of 18:44.3. Valerie Lindenmuth (26th) also finished in the top half of the competition with Caitlin Keen (28th) close behind her.

The Mustangs will be back in action Sept. 30, when they travel to South Bend, Ind., for the Notre Dame Invitational.
