SMU vs. Rice - Complete Results 
DALLAS (SMU) - The SMU women's swim team defeated Conference USA-rival Rice, 156-106, in a dual meet Saturday afternoon at Perkins Natatorium. The Mustangs won 12 of the 14 events. With the victory, SMU moves to 1-1 in dual meets this season.
Sophomore All-America Isabella Arcila led the Mustangs with two individual golds and two relay wins. The sprint free-specialist won the 50- and 100-yard freestyles with times of 23.24 and 51.12, respectively. Arcila was also a part of both relay wins on the afternoon, leading the Mustangs in the 400-yard medley relay (3:46.50) and the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:33.64).
Junior All-America and team captain Nina Rangelova also earned huge points for SMU. Rangelova placed first in the 500-yard freestyle, touching the wall with a time of 4:55.01. She also took first in the 200-yard freestyle (1:49.39), just ahead of teammate Nathalie Lindborg who came in second (1:50.24).
Deanna Matthews also post a pair of top finishes for the Ponies. Matthews won the 100-yard backstroke, clocking in with a time of 57.75. She also claimed a victory in the 400-yard individual medley, finishing the event in 4:28.01
Sophomore All-America Rachel Nicol dominated the breaststroke events, winning the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:03.33 and the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:18.93. Fellow sophomore All-America Erica Donadon placed second in the 200-yard event (2:22.62).
Newcomer Danielle Villars continued her strong freshman campaign with a win in the 200-yard butterfly, clocking in at 2:02.91.
Nathalie Lindborg earned a first-place finish in the 200-yard backstroke (2:03.70)
Distance swimmer Alice McCall took runner-up honors in the 1000-yard freestyle (10:24.77).
The Mustangs compete in the Phil Hansel Invitational hosted by Houston Nov. 15-17.
