Complete Results - 2012 NCAA Championship

AUBURN, Ala. (SMU) - The SMU women's swimming and diving team placed 16th at the NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships with a total of 67 points. California won the event, followed by Georgia and Southern California. The Mustangs grabbed five more All-America titles Saturday for a total of 19 honors.

Senior Therese Svendsen closed out her stellar career by placing 11th in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:54.11. With the finish, Svendsen claimed four All-America honors this year.

SMU wrapped up competition with an 11th-place finish in the 400-yard freestyle relay. Isabella Arcila, Genny Konicke, Monika Babok and Nina Rangelova combined to swim the event in 3:15.96.

Arcila took 35th in the 200-yard backstroke, clocking in with a time of 1:57.04. In the 200-yard butterfly, Denisa Smolenova narrowly missed the finals cut, placing 19th at 1:56.89. Rachel Nicol also came close to All-America status in 200-yard breaststroke as she finished 20th (2:11.07).
