Beyond The Net: A Look Inside SMU Volleyball
Nov 12 | Volleyball
Hi my name is McKenzie Shea, and I am a freshman setter. We just had an awesome home weekend after two back to back away trips!! It felt good to be back in Moody! Friday night we were able to get revenge on the Memphis Tigers from earlier in the season. We played really hard and it was a great win as they were tied for 2nd in the conference! Friday was also our faculty appreciation night and it was so awesome to recognize them for everything they do for us! We wouldn't be able to make it through the Fall season without them! We also came out Sunday and played an awesome game against Cincinnati beating them 3-1!
We will be working super hard on the court this week in practice to get ready for this important weekend coming up! This weekend we are traveling to Florida to get some revenge on UCF and also play USF once again. We played such a hard game against both of them the first round and I know that we have a great chance of coming home with two wins this weekend and an overall 23-5 record for the season!
It's so weird to think that we only have 6 matches left! It's crazy that my freshman season has just flown by! I'm so grateful to be a part of this talented team and so proud of everything we have accomplished so far!! But we're not done yet!! Make sure to come out to our next home matches on November 21st and 23rd! Hope to see you all there!
Pony Up!
