MESA, Ariz. (SMU) - The SMU swim team closed its 2013-14 season on Saturday at the Mesa Grand Prix at the Skyline Aquatic Center.
Freshman Tara-Lynn Nicholas led the way with a sixth-place finish in the A Final of the 100-meter breaststroke clocking in at 1:10.51. Former student-athlete Raminta Dvariskyte also competed for the Mustangs in the event and posted a second-place finish in the B Final at 1:12.05.
Junior Isabella Arcila represented SMU in the 100-meter backstroke placing third in the B Final posting a time of 1:03.91. Also competing in the 100-back was sophomore Anna Volchkov, who placed second in the event's D Final (1:06.30).
The Mustangs final competitor at the grand prix was freshman Ursa Bezan, who posted a 2:25.86 in the 200-meter individual medley C Final placing 6th.
SMU placed 20th at the 2014 NCAA Championship and placed second at the inaugural American Athletic Conference Championship to highlight a successful 2013-14 campaign.
