Galloway Places Third At US Open Taekwondo Championships

ORLANDO, Florida (USAT/SMU) - SMU rower Jackie Galloway earned a third-place finish at the US Open Taekwondo Championships, which took place Jan. 20-25 at the Orange County Convention Center. Galloway was also named the 2014 Female Athlete of the Year by USA Taekwondo.
In 2014, Galloway was a collegiate World Champion, Canadian and German Open Champion as well as a member of the U.S. National Team. Her success in 2013 was evident as she took National Championship honors in the United States, Costa Rica and Israel. She was also a Pan American Open Champion.
During the 2012 calendar year, Galloway was named an alternate for the London Olympics and won both Dutch and Swedish Open Championships. She also earned a bronze medal at the World Championship and US Open. In 2011, Galloway was a Pan American Games champion.
