DALLAS (SMU) - The SMU women's cross country team will travel north for the second straight meet to compete in the Wisconsin Adidas Invitational Friday, Oct. 16 at the Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course. The field consists of 36 teams from across the country, over half of which are nationally ranked in the USTFCCCA top 30.
The Mustangs are coming off of a 13th place finish at the Notre Dame Invitational two weeks ago after going up against a 21 team field. Shanoah Souza was the top finisher for SMU with a time of 17:20.1 and coming in 42 nd place out of 171 runners.
The rest of the SMU lineup finished in the order of Holly Archer (17:30.2, 57th), Karoline Skatteboe (17:31.2, 60th), Anneke Grogan (18:05.8, 106th), Rakel Barrientos (18:14.9, 122nd), Cassidy Webber (18:27.8, 141st), Justine Anthony (18:51.2, 156th) and Rebekah Bosler (19:26.8, 165th).
The large field has 20 of the USTFCCCA top 30 and five top 10 teams including top ranked New Mexico, No. 3 Providence, No. 6 Boise State, No. 8 Iowa State and No. 10 Washington. This will also be the first matchup for the Mustangs against No. 11 Arkansas, the top team in the South Central Region that SMU is ranked third in.
