DRAW

DALLAS (SMU) - The SMU women's tennis team will host the SMU Invitational at the SMU Tennis Complex this weekend starting Friday and ending on Sunday. Individuals from Kansas State, Arkansas, Rice, TCU, UTEP, Louisiana Tech, Northwestern State, Abilene Christian, UTA, Midwestern State and Incarnate Word will compete in singles and doubles play.

This will be the second tournament the Mustangs have competed in this fall after traveling to Oklahoma for the OU Invite two weeks ago. SMU's doubles pairings will be senior Vaszilisza Bulgakova and junior Dasha Sharapova along with juniors Macie Elliott and Mary Wright in the Red Doubles Draw. Sharapova will also be teaming up with freshman Anna Luisa Perez-Lopez in the White Draw.

Perez-Lopez and Sharapova will face Rachel Sadiq and Victoria Kareh from Incarnate Word, and Elliott and Wright will square off with Erin Walker and Kaysie Hemsdorf of Abilene Christian both at 9 a.m. CT on Friday. Bulgakova and Sharapova's first match will be against Natalya Krutova and Polina Mutel from Northwestern State at 10 a.m.

Singles matchups for the SMU start at 10 a.m. with senior Yana Erkeeva facing Kansas State's Carolina Costamagna in the Red Singles Draw and Bulgakova is scheduled to take on Sadiq from Incarnate Word in the Mustang Singles Draw. Sharapova and UTEP's Lois Wagenvoort will match up at 12:30 p.m. in the White Singles Draw and another SMU/UTEP matchup will take place between Wright and Matilda Tench at 11:00 a.m. in the Blue Singles Draw.

Elliott will start her singles match against Louisiana Tech's Yuchia Chen at 11:30 a.m. in the Black Singles Draw and Perez-Lopez will see Arkansas' Abby White at 10:00 a.m. in the Pony Singles draw. Freshman Christina Paulus will be in one of the last matches of the day in the SMU Singles Draw taking on UTEP's Raven Bennett.
