TULSA, Okla. (SMU) - The pair of senior Nate Lammons and junior Arkadijs Slobodkins dropped their match to North Carolina's No. 18 Brett Clark and Robert Kelly, in the round of 16 at the St. Francis Health System All-American Championship.
Lammons and Slobodkins won four straight matches prior to their 6-2, 6-4 loss to Clark and Kelly. During that win streak, the duo of Lammons and Slobodkins picked up a victory against No. 14 Arjun Kadhe and Julian Cash of Oklahoma State, as well as three wins in straight sets.
"The guys had a fantastic tournament, winning four matches including one against a top ranked opponent," said Head Coach Carl Neufeld.
"I'm really excited about the progress Arkadijs has made, evolving his game in serving and returning, he took his game to another level. The final score wasn't indicative of how we played today, a point here and there could have changed the outcome but we tip our hats off to them, they played exceptionally," Neufeld said.
