Mustangs Announce 2015-16 Rowing Schedule, Includes Two Home Events

DALLAS (SMU) - SMU rowing Head Coach Doug Wright has announced the 2015-16 schedule, which includes two home events during the spring portion of the slate.
The Mustangs fall schedule starts with Head of the Brazos (Waco, Texas) on Oct. 10 and a head to head event with Tulsa (Tulsa, Oklahoma) on Oct. 6 and 7.
Head style racing events refer to those that involve shotgun starts and teams racing against the clock on courses approximately three miles long.
Sprint races begin on March 12 with the Mustangs hosting its first of two events at White Rock Lake in Dallas. In the spring opener, SMU will race Creighton, a team that the Ponies swept at home last season.
On March 18, the Mustangs wrap up their home slate by hosting UCO. In 2014, SMU swept the Bronchos in all three Varsity 8 events.
The month of April includes the Knecht Cup in Mercer, N.J. (April 9), Lawless Cup in Tulsa, Oklahoma (April 23) and Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama (April 30).
The American Athletic Conference Championship is set for May 15 in Sacramento, California.
