Adams Named To Conference Weekly Honor Roll

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (SMU/AAC) – McKenzie Adams was named to the American Athletic Conference weekly honor roll after leading the Mustangs to the SMU Thanksgiving Classic championship with wins over Cal State Fullerton and Kansas.
The sophomore guard scored a career-high 24 points against Kansas, and finished with 15 points and nine assists against Cal State Fullerton en route to tournament MVP honors. She shot 46.4 percent from the field, going 13-for-28 in the two wins. A transfer from Arkansas, Adams also had seven rebounds, four steals and a block.
The Mustangs are 3-2 this season, and eclipsed 70 points in four of the first five games after reaching 70 points just twice last season. Adams is second on the team with 13.2 points per game and has a team-high 16 assists. SMU plays at North Texas Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Super Pit.
