Moody Invited To US National Team ID Camp

DALLAS (SMU) - SMU rower Savannah Moody has been invited to this weekend's US National Team ID Camp in Chula Vista, California. The camp is to identify possible rowers to compete on the U-23 National Team.
Moody, a native of Long Beach, California, competes in the stroke seat on the Mustangs' 1st Varsity 8+ crew. Following the 2013-14 season, she was named Second-Team All-Region by the College Rowing Coaches Association.
During the fall portion of the 2014-15 schedule, Moody helped her crew to a fifth place finish at the Head of the Colorado, and a ninth place finish at the Head of the Oklahoma.
Last season, as a member of the same crew, she was part of four first-place finishes as well as three runner-up finishes. The crew posted its fastest time of the season with a 6:42.5 finish on April 26 against Central Oklahoma.
"We are very proud of Savannah for her invite to camp," Head Coach Doug Wright said. "She has the ability and the poise to have a very successful showing at camp this weekend. We know she will represent herself and SMU with pride."
Moody and the Mustangs open the spring season on March 14 when they host Creighton at White Rock Lake. The event is one of four that SMU will host this spring with dates against Kansas (April 4), Tulsa (April 18) and Alabama (April 25) also scheduled.
