DALLAS -- The SMU women's soccer team lost for the first time this spring, dropping a close 1-0 decision to Stephen F. Austin on Saturday afternoon at Westcott Field. 

The teams played a scored a scoreless first half, with each side tallying four shots and one on goal. 

In the 54th minute, the Lumberjacks' Jasmine White scored the game's lone goal, running onto a long ball from defender Brooke Dunnigan and slipping a low shot past SMU's keeper Shannon Moroney.

For the final 35 minutes, the Mustangs put pressure on the SFA defense, but could not find the equalizer.  SMU outshot Stephen F. Austin, 8-2, and had a 7-1 advantage in corner kicks in the second half. 

Kelsey Gorney led the Mustangs with three shots, including two on goal, while Claire Oates also added two shots on goal.  In net, Moroney recorded two saves for SMU. 

The Mustangs play their first and only road match of the spring on Saturday, April 18, when they travel to Texas State for 1 p.m. match.
