DALLAS (SMU) – Rising senior Nate Lammons and sophomore Charles Nettlefold both earned ITA Scholar-Athlete status, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association has announced.

In order to receive this honor, both players earned varsity letters for the 2014-15 season, maintained a grade point average of 3.50 or above.

Lammons had a strong junior season that included being ranked as high as 110th nationally in singles. He led the team with 24 singles wins, including a 16-5 mark in the spring. Lammons also reached the singles final at the Jack Kramer Club Invitational in the fall. In doubles, he paired with Arkadijs Slobodkins to go 15-6 with a 13-4 record at the No. 2 position. He and Slobodkins began dual match play with a 12-0 record.

Nettlefold, competing in his first collegiate season, went 11-8 overall in singles, including a five-match unbeaten streak to begin the spring. The Melbourne, Australia, native totaled nine wins at the No. 6 spot for SMU.
