SMU's Dishkova Wins Doubles Tournament In Luxembourg

LUXEMBOURG (SMU) - SMU women's tennis senior Hristina Dishkova won the Sermelux Open in Luxembourg over the weekend with doubles partner Michaela Boev of Belgium.
The Sermelux Open was an International Tennis Federation Tournament played from Sept. 7th to the 13th on a hard court surface. Dishkova and Boev won their first match against Eden Megan Chang and Maria Ryazantseva (6-1, 6-1), had to come back in their semifinal match against Elyne Boeykens and Helene Scholsen (4-6, 6-3 [10-8]) and won the championship match in straight sets over the top seeded pair of Manon Arcangioli and Harriet Dart (6-2, 6-3).
The prior week, Dishkova and fellow German Caroline Uebelhoer took part in the Prayon Open in Belgium, this time on a clay court instead of hardcourt. Dishkova and Bebelhoer defeated Julia Kimmelmann and Lisa Matviyenko in the quarterfinals (3-6, 6-1 [10-4]) before falling to the number one pairing of Karin Kennel and Lara Michel (6-3, 6-2).
Dishkova will hope to carry over those performances into the SMU Fall Tournament season, which begins Sept. 25 in Norman, Okla. for the Oklahoma Invitational and SMU's first home tournament is the SMU Invite on Oct. 9-11.
