Women's Basketball Announces Conference Schedule

DALLAS (SMU) – The Mustangs start their third season of competition in the American Athletic Conference Jan. 2 at Tulsa. The contest is the first of an 18-game conference schedule which features two games against two-time defending national champion Connecticut, and at least three games televised on the ESPN family of networks.
SMU will play home-and-home sets with East Carolina, Houston, Temple, Tulane, Tulsa, UCF, Connecticut and USF, as well as games against Memphis (home) and Cincinnati (away). Senior day and the final home game of the season is schedule for Feb. 27 against Houston at 2 p.m., before the regular season finale at East Carolina Feb. 29.
The American Athletic Conference Championships will be at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn., March 4-7. This is the third straight season Mohegan Sun has hosted the event, which has produced the last two national champions.
Head coach Rhonda Rompola starts her 25th season at the helm of the program in Moody Coliseum against Northwestern State Nov. 15. The Mustangs return four starters from a season ago, including Alicia Froling, who was named to the American Athletic Conference All-Freshman team after becoming the first freshman since Janelle Dodds to lead SMU in scoring.
