TERRE HAUTE, IND. (SMU/NCAA) –
Hannah Miller closed out her first cross country season on the Hilltop after finishing 144th out of 250 competitors at the NCAA Championship Saturday at the LaVern Gibson Cross Country Course.
Miller finished the 6-kilometers in a time of 21 minutes, 1.8 seconds which was 23rd among the 49 freshman in the field.
She was one of only 38 individual qualifiers that qualified for the national meet after a fourth-place finish at the NCAA South Central Regional. She was named to the South Central All-Region team and was the top freshman in the field of 144 runners.
The Invercargill, New Zealand, native was the first SMU representative at the NCAA Championship since senior
Agnes Sjostrom competed in the meet in 2014. She finished as The American runner-up to help guide SMU to its fourth league title in the past six years and sixth in the past nine years.
