Moore Joins Miami, Tolbert With Atlanta, Moreira Makes Toronto

--- Three Mustangs have signed with NBA teams for the 2016 NBA Summer League. Guard Nic Moore signed with the Miami Heat, Jordan Tolbert joined the Atlanta Hawks and Yanick Moreira will play with the Toronto Raptors. Moore will be part of the Heat roster for games in Orlando (July 2-8) while all three teams will play in Las Vegas (July 8-18).

Moore, a two-time American Athletic Conference Player of the Year and two-time honorable mention All-America,
 was also a 2015-16 Naismith Trophy Candidate, Bob Cousy Award finalist, member of the Wooden Award Late Season 20, selected to the Oscar Robertson Trophy Watch List and the Senior CLASS Award Candidate list. He was also named to the U.S. Basketball Writers Association District VII All-District Team and unanimously All-AAC First Team after leading The American in scoring (16.1), assists (5.2) and three-pointers per game (2.6). He also ranked near the top of the AAC in steals (1.3, 5th AAC), 3-point percentage (41.3, 5th AAC), assist-to-turnover ratio (2.3, 3rd AAC) and free throw percentage (80.0 percent, T-4th AAC).

Moore helped lead SMU's resurgence. In his career, the Mustangs reached the 2014 NIT Championship Game, won the 2014-15 AAC regular season and tournament titles, reached the 2015 NCAA Tournament and claimed the 2015-16 Las Vegas Classic. In 2013-14, the Mustangs returned to the top 25 for the first time in almost 30 years, and remained in the rankings for most of his junior and senior seasons. In the summer of 2015, he helped Team USA - under Kansas Head Coach Bill Self - to the Gold Medal at the World University Games in Gwangju, South Korea.

In his SMU career, he finished second in school history in assists (508), fourth in assists per game (5.1), fourth in free throw percentage (83.8), fourth in 3-pointers made (225), sixth in 3-point percentage (42.1), sixth in games started (100), tied for ninth in steals (136), tied for 10th in steals per game (1.4) and 11th in points (1,462).

SMU forward Jordan Tolbert signed with the Atlanta Hawks for the 2016 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas for games July 8-18.

In 2015-16, Tolbert led the Mustangs with 8.5 rebounds per game (4th AAC), topped the AAC at 3.53 offensive rebounds (24th NCAA) per game, averaged 11.6 points per game (24th AAC), and converted 55.6 percent from the field (4th AAC). With 23 rebounds against Nicholls (Dec.16), Tolbert tied for the second-most in the nation this season and tied The American record. The performance is tied for the third highest in SMU program history and the most since 1975. He was one of five Mustangs in the AAC top 13 in field goal percentage. Tolbert was named to the Continental Tire Las Vegas Classic All-Tournament team after helping the Mustangs claim the title. He was selected The American Player of the Week twice.

He helped the Mustangs to a 25-5 season, including a 16-1 record in Moody Coliseum. SMU finished the season ranked No. 24. The Mustangs were as high as No. 8 in the AP top 25 after starting the season 18-0 and being the last undefeated team in the nation.

Yanick Moreira signed with the Toronto Raptors for the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas. He played for the Los Angeles Clippers in the 2015 NBA Summer League before playing professionally in France and Spain during the 2015-16 season.

As a senior at SMU in 2014-15, Moreira started every game as the Mustangs won the American Athletic Conference regular season and tournament titles. He averaged 11.1 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.2 blocks while finishing fourth in the conference in shooting percentage (.550). He was The American Most Improved Player of the Year and a member of The AAC All-Championship team.
