SMU Announces Free Admission For Holiday Games
DALLAS (SMU) – As a gift during the holidays, SMU is giving fans admission-free entry to women's basketball games on Dec. 20 and 22. Tipoff for both games is scheduled for 1 p.m. The game on the 22nd will also feature pictures with Santa and holiday-themed crafts.
SMU is 3-1 in Moody Coliseum this season and 16-4 during Travis Mays' tenure, including a pair of postseason wins. Three of the four losses at home came to teams ranked or receiving votes at the time of the game, including No. 1 Connecticut.
This season, McKenzie Adams leads the team and is in the top 50 nationally with 19.9 points per game. The senior has two of the top five scoring performances in program history, including a career-high 38 points in the season opener, third in a game at SMU.
The Mustangs set the single-season blocks record for the third year in a row last season and the rebounds record for the second consecutive year. This season, SMU is averaging 41.8 rebounds and outrebounding opponents by 6.5 per game, ranking third in the American Athletic Conference.
SMU leads the league with 41 blocks, including 18 by Klara Bradshaw, who is the individual leader. The Mustangs average 4.6 per game. Dai'ja Thomas is in the top 10 in The American in both rebounds, 7.8 per game, and blocks with eight, averaging just under a block per game.
