ORLANDO, Florida (SMU) – Senior
Lindsey McCurdy carded 2-under 70 to lead the SMU women's golf team in the first round of the 2017 UCF Challenge in Orlando Sunday. The 18-hole total places McCurdy tied for 13th in the 96-player field.
No. 20 UCF sits atop the 17-team leaderboard at 8-under 280. The host school sits three strokes ahead of No. 34 Wisconsin and No. 40 Kentucky. SMU finished round one 4-over 292 and is in 14th place.
Freshman
Kenzie Wright (T21) is also under par after the first 18 holes, sitting at 1-under 71 with a team-leading five birdies, while senior
Katie Page (T39) is 1-over 73. Sophomore
Brigitte Dunne rounded out the Mustang scoring today at +6, and freshman
Ana Paula Ramirez is one stroke behind at +7.
Freshman
Faith Summers is representing the Mustangs as an individual and sits at even par tied for 28th overall and tied for first on the individual leaderboard.
Individually, Kentucky's Isabelle Johansson leads the field at -8, while Chieh Jessica Peng (Mississippi State) and Renate Grimstad (Miami) are tied for second at -6.
