LAS VEGAS (SMU) – Senior
Andrew Buchanan shot a 1-under-par 71 on the final day of the Southern Highlands Collegiate to record his third top-25 finish this season. The Los Altos, Calif., native finished the tournament tied for 12th at 2-under-par (71-72-71—214).
Gray Townsend finished the tournament tied for 36th (71-75-78—224). He finished the tournament 8-over-par. Senior
Alex Higgs carded a three-day 226 (+10, 74-73-79) to finish tied for 46th.
Daniel Connolly shot a 4-over-par 76 in the third round to finish tied for 53rd (73-78-76—227).
Ben Baxter finished 66th (72-76-84—232).
As a team, SMU shot 16-over-par (304) to finish the tournament in 10th place (287-296-304—887). The Mustangs finished above No. 22 San Diego State, No. 25 Arizona State and No. 49 New Mexico. No. 7 Southern California (USC) won the tournament (-11, 853), while No. 4 Oklahoma State (-1, 863) and No. 11 Texas Tech (+3, 867) round out the top three.
Next up, SMU will play in The Goodwin, hosted by Stanford, March 30-April 1.
