DALLAS (SMU) – SMU men's golf finished in fourth place at the Trinity Forest Invitational after a back-and-forth final round.
 
The Mustangs came into the day in fourth place and quickly shot up near the top of the leaderboard. The Mustangs took the lead over Rice during the middle portion of the round but found themselves in fourth after falling off down the stretch. Rice and USC split the team title at 32-under.
 
Will Sides competed for a title throughout the week. He led briefly on Tuesday before finishing alone in fifth. He started his day with two straight birdies. He shot two rounds of 67 during day one and two.  The finish was Sides second top five showing in three starts this season.
 
Zachary Kingsland shot six-under for the tournament ending the tournament with a single bogey in his final round. He closed strong birdieing three of the final four holes. Kingsland finished in 15^th. One shot back, Gabe Post had his best collegiate finish with a 17^th-place showing.  He carded rounds of 70, 70 and 71.
 
Christian Clark finished in 18^th, seven spots up on the final day leaderboard. Clark rattled off five straight birdies on holes 13 through 17. He birdied eight times on the day. Areen Aggarwal finished in 46^th at four over par. His best round came on day two with a 71.

The secondary SMU team finished in 14^th place.  Andrew Petruzzelli finished in 25th. The transfer junior shot a 67 in round two. Freshman Ben Steinmann shot even par during the final round to move up 13 spots into 38^th. Matthew Foster carded a 75 in the final round to finish in 46^th. Freshmen Mason Lewis (85^th) and  Zhengqian Li (87^th) completed the Mustang secondary squad.
