DALLAS (SMU) – The SMU track and field team continues its season with a trip to Houston for the Houston Invitational on Friday, Jan. 26, and Saturday, Jan. 27.

It will be SMU's first return to Houston's Yeoman Fieldhouse since 2016, when current Mustangs Anneke Grogan, Rakel Barrientos and Rebekah Bosler impressed in distance events.

The Mustangs enter their third week with multiple No. 1 rankings in the American Athletic Conference. Chelsea Francis claims the top spot in the 60m with a 7.36 mark from last weekend's Red Raider Invitational. Latessa Johnson's mark of 23.74 in the 200m ranks her first in the conference. Svenja Ojstersek's week one time of 4:56.81 in the mile run has kept her in first, followed closely by teammate Tess Misgen (4:57.80) in second. The Mustangs hold first in the 4x400 relay with a time of 3:48.26.

Hannah Miller, who broke a school record at the Vanderbilt Invitational and won the American Athletic Conference Female Track Athlete of the Week honor Tuesday, holds the top spot in the 3000m.

Events are slated to begin on Friday at 10 a.m. with women's weight throw and Saturday at 9 a.m. with women's shot put.

Following the Houston Invitational, the Mustangs will return to Nashville, Tennessee for the Music City Challenge and Fayetteville, Arkansas for the Tyson Invitational on Feb. 9-10.
