LOS ANGELES (SMU) - The SMU men's tennis team (1-4) fell to Indiana (3-2) in Saturday's consolation match hosted by USC at the ITA Kick-Off Weekend in Los Angeles, California.

SMU was selected to compete in this year's ITA Kick-Off Weekend in June for the second consecutive year.

The Mustangs lost the doubles point in two matches, suspending No. 1 doubles. Charles Nettlefold and Roberto Rosales were defeated 6-4 by Antonio Cembellin and Afonso Salgado. Indiana's Payam Ahmadi and Bennett Crane sealed the point with a 6-1 win over Eladio Fabregas and Gardiner Perotti.

No. 4 singles was retired early, giving Crane a quick win over Fabregas. The Hoosiers followed with a 6-0, 6-2 victory by Cembellin over Tomas Vaise and a 6-2, 6-1 win by Zac Brodney over Gardiner Perotti to clinch the match.

The Mustangs return home to face UT-Permian Basin and Midwestern State in a doubleheader on Feb. 4.
