DALLAS (SMU) – SMU Men's Tennis took down Louisiana 6-1 at Styslinger/Altec Tennis Complex on Sunday.
 
The Mustangs won the doubles point and dominated singles play by winning five out of six courts.
 
Trevor Svajda and Jerry Barton remained undefeated in singles play and are 3-0 in singles matches this season. Svajda has not dropped a set in all three matches.
 
Georgi Georgiev has also won his third consecutive singles match of the season. He is now 3-1 in singles play.
 
On top of his streak in singles play, Svajda has won three consecutive doubles matches and is 3-1 in doubles play this season. He and doubles partner Alex Finkelstein have won two matches in a row.
 
How it Went
Barton and Vikas Deo opened the day with a doubles win on court three. They defeated Nikola Kolyachev and Darius Balan 6-3.
 
Svajda and Finkelstein clinched the doubles point shortly after Deo and Barton's win. The court one doubles pair won 7-5 against Mason Landreth / Leonard Tramolay (7-5).
 
Georgiev and Krish Arora were leading 5-4 on court two before SMU clinched the doubles point.
 
Svajda resumes his dominant form in singles play by winning his match against Mason Landreth in straight sets (6-3, 6-2).
 
Louisiana took one point back from court six, as Samuel Kyjaci defeated Meethre Barot (6-1, 6-2).
 
SMU did not bat an eye at the loss, winning the remaining four singles matches in straight sets.
 
Georgiev won his match on court three against Darius Balan (6-1, 6-1) for his third consecutive singles match win.
 
Barton clinched the match for SMU at 4-1 with a service ace to win his match on court five against Nikola Kolyachev (6-2, 6-2), also his third consecutive singles win.
 
Krish Arora won his second dual match singles for SMU against David Simeonov (6-2, 6-2) on court four, and Finkelstein topped the weekend with a win on court two over Leonard Tramolay (6-4, 6-3).

What's Next?
SMU will hit the road for its first road matches of the season at Waco, Texas, on Saturday.
 
The Mustangs will take on Abilene Christian at 9am CT before playing their second ranked match of the season against the hosts, No. 16 Baylor at 5pm CT in a doubleheader next weekend.
