After a 3-0 win at home against Houston, the SMU volleyball team returns to the road this weekend. SMU plays at Tulane Friday night at 7 p.m. at Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse. The trip concludes Sunday at Memphis in the Elma Roane Fieldhouse at 1 p.m.

ABOUT SMU
SMU enters the weekend with a 3-2 record in the American Athletic Conference, losing just one set in three matches at Moody Coliseum. Overall, the Mustangs are 6-9. Senior Brittany Adams leads the team and ranks eighth in The American with 3.05 kills per set. Playing in 33 of 56 sets this season, freshman Hannah Jacobs is second on the squad with 2.7 kills per set. Rachel Woulfe, one of three SMU freshmen with action in at least 50 sets, is scoring just under two kills per set.

Lexi Nordmann is third in the league with a .333 attack percentage, and the sophomore is fifth in the conference with a team-high 1.09 blocks per set. Meryn Kennedy is seventh in The American with 1.07 blocks per set, and the Mustangs are third as a team with 2.26 per set.

Montana Watts anchors the SMU back row, averaging 5.32 digs per set to rank third in the league. Adams digs 3.09 attacks per set, and SMU is third in The American with 16.57 per set.

LAST TIME OUT
SMU defeated Houston in three sets at home Friday, Oct. 5. Lexi Nordmann led the Mustangs with eight kills and had five blocks. Montana Watts was named to The American Weekly Honor Roll after recording 24 digs.

SCOUTING TULANE
Tulane is 13-7 overall, but just 1-4 in The American after a win at Memphis in its last match. The Green Wave took defending conference champion Wichita State to five sets in the first league match, but won just one set in the next three matches combined.

Lexi Douglas leads the team with 2.71 kills per set, but is one of six attackers scoring at least two kills per set. As a team, Tulane is hitting .224 while holding opponents to a .152 attack percentage.

SERIES HISTORY
SMU is 13-13 all-time against Tulane. The Mustangs have won each of the last eight matches since Tulane joined The American in 2014. The two programs first met in 2001, with Tulane winning in New Orleans. The Green Wave also won in Dallas in 2002, the only two non-conference matches in the series.

SCOUTING MEMPHIS
Memphis is 7-10 overall, 0-5 in The American with a loss at home against Tulane in its last match. The Tigers ended the non-conference schedule with a five-match win streak. Hannah Flowers leads the team with 3.47 kills per set with a .311 attack percentage. Kelsea Bivins adds 2.98 per set, but is the only other Tiger averaging more than two kills per set.

SERIES HISTORY
SMU is 15-5 all-time against Memphis, winning the last seven straight. The Mustangs have swept the last four matches and five of the last six in the series.
