COLLEGE STATION, Texas (SMU) – SMU women's tennis wrapped up play at the ITA Regional Championship at the Mitchell Tennis Center Friday.

Junior Sarai Monarrez Yesaki was the top singles performer for the Mustangs, advancing to the Round of 16. She defeated Tijana Spasojevic of Texas in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2 in the Round of 32 before falling to Texas Tech's Francesca Sella.

Senior Karina Traxler battled but eventually fell to Texas Tech's Olivia Peet by a score of 6-4, 1-6, 1-0 (5) in the Round of 32. Senior Liza Buss also reached the Round of 32, falling to Jayci Goldsmith of Texas A&M.

Traxler and junior Tiffany Hollebeck made up SMU's most successful doubles pair, reaching the Round of 16 before falling to the duo of Kutubidze/Kononova from North Texas.

The Mustangs are back in action from Oct. 26-28 at the River Oaks Invitational in Houston, Texas.
