HOUSTON (SMU) – SMU women's tennis completed three days of competition at the River Oaks Country Club Fall Collegiate Invitational hosted by River Oaks Country Club from Oct. 26-28.

The three seniors that made the trip to Houston each picked up pair of singles victories over the weekend. Liza Buss bookended her weekend with wins, notching a comeback victory over Houston's Phonexay Chitdara, 2-6, 6-1, 7-5, on Friday and beating NC State's Bianca Moldovan 6-3, 6-3 on Sunday.

Vivienne Kulicke continued her impressive fall campaign with a pair of straight-set wins. On Friday, she defeated Houston's Constandena Nicolaou 6-1, 6-2, and on Saturday, she beat Rice's Linda Huang 7-6, 6-4. Classmate Ana Perez-Lopez battled her way to two wins, beating Houston's Elena Tairyan 2-6, 6-4, 6-3 on Friday and NC State's Liz Norman 7-6, 4-6, 7-5 on Saturday.

Kulicke and junior Sarai Monarrez Yesaki made up the Mustangs' most successful doubles team, notching two wins. The duo defeated Rice's Smirnova/Haet 6-3 on Friday and Houston's Belovukovic/Nicolaou 6-2 on Saturday.

SMU returns to action this weekend when it hosts the Red and Blue Challenge at the SMU Tennis Complex from Nov. 2-4.
