SMU women's rowing is seeking to award one partial or full scholarship to the best female athlete in the state of Texas. The Mustang Country scholarship is intended for a native Texan who has never rowed before but demonstrates the physical potential to excel in the sport of rowing at the collegiate level. Rowing is a sport that, for many, begins at the collegiate level, as was the case for over half of the women on the 2016 Rio Olympic Team. If you are a Texas athlete who dreams of an outstanding SMU education and a Division I athletic experience, then this opportunity is for you.

"We know that there are a lot of great athletes in the state of Texas who have a ton of potential," said SMU head coach
Kim Cupini. "I know we can develop the right walk-on athletes into top varsity rowers. If they want SMU, then we want them."
