SMU rowing takes on the ACC Championship at Lake Wheeler Friday, May 15 through Saturday, May 16.
 
SMU first races in the 3v8 at 7:05 a.m. CT on Friday and racing continues until the 2v4 at 8:45 a.m CT.  The teams come back out for another 7:05 a.m. start on Saturday with boats advancing to the grand or petite finals.

LAKE WHEELER INVITE
Last time out, the Mustangs swept their NCAA boat races on Saturday at the Lake Wheeler Invitational, the same lake where they'll be competing at the ACC Championship. Starting with the 1v4, the Mustangs recorded a first-place finish with a time of 7:20.940, 2.23 seconds ahead of second-place Louisville. They also topped Boston College, Georgetown, Tulsa and Old Dominion.  In the 2v8, SMU crossed the line first, 5.35 seconds ahead of second-place finisher Louisville. Also, the Mustangs again bested Boston College , Tulsa, Georgetown and Old Dominion.  In the final SMU race of the regular season, the Mustangs finished in first by 5.21 seconds ahead of second-place Louisville in the 1v8, topping Tulsa, Boston  College, Georgetown and Old Dominion in the process.
 
ORLANDO INVITE
SMU qualified for the "A" final in the 3v8s on Friday at the Orlando Invite with a time of 6:52.1, ahead of Duke and UCF. They would go on to finish in fifth during the "A" final. The Mustangs would also best Oklahoma in the 2v8s on Friday and Saturday. Additionally they topped Oklahoma in Friday's 1v4 race. They raced in front of fellow ACC program Clemson in Saturday's 1v4 action.
 
 
SARASOTA 2K
SMU posted two first place finishes on Friday at the Sarasota 2K. They came across the line first in the 1v8 and 2v8. The team qualified for the A final in four of five boats. They bested the likes of Boston College, Drexel, High Point, Tulsa, Miami, Dartmouth and Jacksonville. On Saturday, they raced in four A finals with a best finish of fifth in the 1v8 and 3v8. The Mustangs won the B final in 2v4.
 
DOOLEY NAMED TO WATCH LIST
Sophia Dooley was named to the ACC 2026 Preseason Watch List by the conference. The Watch List includes one student-athlete from each program nominated by their respective schools. The ACC is the only conference that has a preseason rowing watch list.
