RALEIGH, N.C. (SMU) - SMU Rowing wrapped up day one at the ACC Championship with one fourth-place, two fifth place, and two sixth place finishes at Lake Wheeler Park.
 
The Mustangs started the day with the 3v8. SMU came in sixth in the race crossing the line in 7:11.590.
 
 In the 1v8, SMU topped Boston College with a fifth-place finish. They posted a time of 6:23.770, 12.12 second ahead of BC. They were just 4.03 second out of a spot in the top three.
 
SMU registered its best finish of Friday in the 2v8. They came in fourth, 5.99 ahead of fifth-place Clemson and 17.06 seconds ahead of Boston College.
 
In the 1v4, SMU finished in sixth with a time of 7:26.100. In the final race of the day, the 2v4, SMU crossed the line in 7:31.780, 18.81 seconds ahead of Boston College.
 
SMU returns to the water for Saturday's final. The Mustangs will be racing in five petite finals on the day.
