Andrea Podmanikova wrapped up competition at the 2018 European Championships held in Glasgow, Scotland, at the Tollcross International Swimming Centre. Podmanikova, who swims for Slovakia, competed in breaststroke races at the event.
Podmanikova earned her highest placement in heats of the 200m breaststroke, finishing 30th in a time of 2:34.01. She also placed 41st in the 50m (33.32) and 48th in the 100m (1:12.18).
She also competed as part of Slovakia's mixed 4x100m medley relay that placed 17th (3:59.73) and the 4x100 medley (4:17.64) that finished 16th.
A 2018 NCAA qualifier in both breaststroke events, Podmanikova won the American Athletic Conference title in the 200-yard distance. She also picked up all-conference honors in the 100 distance and as part of the 200 free, 200 medley and 400 medley relays. Podmanikova ranks second on SMU's all-time performer list in the 200 breast and third in the 100.
