DENTON (SMU) -- SMU Cross Country won their second event of the season with
Hannah Miller winning another individual title at the Ken Garland Invite Saturday morning.
In a finish that mirrored the first race of the season, junior

Svenja Ojstersek took the first and second spots setting up the Mustangs for an incredible impressive result. Hannah's time of 16:36.3 was the third fastest 5K in program history. Svenja came in at 17:00.6, 40 seconds in front of any other runner.
Anneke Grogan and Charlotte Tara-Murphy registered top 10 finishes for the second consecutive race. Grogan clocked in at 17:57.5, good for fourth place, while Tara-Murphy came in 5
th at 18:00.4. Altogether, the Mustangs finished with an astounding four of the top five times.
Robin Montemayor (18:55.8) and Allison Esparza (19:08.6) also registered top 10 finishes coming in at seventh and 10
th respectively. Freshman
Olivia Lackner finished in 15
th in the 51-runner field with a time of 19:24.3.
 As a team, the Mustangs won the event by an enormous margin of 39 points over second-place UNT. The 19 points the Mustangs scored was just four shy off the lowest possible score you can register at a meet. This is the first year since 2013 that SMU has won multiple events in a season.
Next up, the Mustangs leave the state for the Greater Louisville Classic. The third race of the season is set for Sep. 29.
