LOUISVILLE CLASSIC FIELD
LOUISVILLE (SMU) – Mustang Cross Country looks to continue their perfect start to the season as they head to the Louisville Sports Commission Cross Country Classic. Start time is set for Saturday morning at 9:15 a.m.Â
SMU cruised to victory in its first two events of this season. Junior Hannah Miller led the way in both events with first-place finishes including breaking the school 4K record at Baylor and posting the program's third best ever 5K time at North Texas. Right behind Miller, finishing second in every race, was senior Svenja Ojstersek. Additionally, both Anneke Grogan and Charlotte Tara-Murphy have a pair of top-10 finishes to their name. In their last time out, the Mustangs ran away from the competition and completed the race in places, 1-2-4-5-7, four points off the best possible score.
The Louisville Classic is set for a 5K from Sawyer State Park. The Louisville Cardinals play host to the meet which features a loaded field, including the No. 10 team in the country, Michigan. Altogether, 29 teams will compete at the event. This will mark the Mustangs first entry into the Greater Louisville Classic though they ran at this course last season for the Pre-National Invitational.
After the trip to Kentucky, the Mustangs will wrap up the regular season with the Texas A&M Invitational from College Station, Texas set for Saturday, Oct. 13.
