DALLAS (SMU) – Alicia Froling set the SMU career record for blocks as the Mustangs fell to Tulane, 61-43, on Saturday inside Moody Coliseum.

Froling broke the block record with a rejection of Krystal Freeman in the opening seconds of the third quarter. The 181^st block of her Mustang career pushed her past Sarah Davis for most in program history. The senior adds the record to her long list of Mustang top marks including career double-doubles and rebounds. Froling is averaging 2.1 blocks-per-game this season, best in the conference.

The Mustangs led for the majority of the first half, but a Green Wave run to close the half put the Mustangs down seven at the intermission. Early in the third an 8-0 Mustang run cut the lead to just two led by a pair of buckets from Johnasia Cash. Tulane shot back ahead and used a strong fourth quarter to add to their lead and take the win. The Green Wave improved to 13-3 and 3-0 in conference. The Mustangs fell to 6-10 on the season and 0-3 in the conference.

Kayla White finished the game with a team high 13 points, leading the team for the fourth time this season. Cash contributed seven boards, to lead the Mustangs, while also chipping in three blocks. The sophomore also added two steals.

On the offensive end of the floor, the Mustangs nearly out-rebounded Tulane with 22 offensive boards to Tulane's 27 defensive rebounds. Overall, the Mustangs held an 46-39 advantage in total rebounds.

The Mustangs three-game home stand wraps up on Tuesday as Wichita State rolls into Moody Coliseum for a 7 p.m. tip.
