COLLEGE STATION, Texas (SMU) - The Mustangs finished in 18^th on Saturday at the Arturo Barrios Invitational in College Station, the final tune up before the American Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships.

Tess Misgen led the way for the Mustangs with a 22:17.4 time, good for 87^th place. Olivia Lackner placed behind in 92nd with a time of 22:20.0. Lackner made up significant ground after the first 2K, jumping up 31 spots on the leaderboard.

Three freshman rounded out the Mustang effort in College Station. Maddie Hulcy finished in 22:23.0 in 96^th followed closely by Lior Kremer in 102nd (22:24.2). Eve Hoeltgen clocked in 25:44.5 in 228th in the first 6K of the season.

As a team, the Mustangs finished in 18^th in the 28 team field that included 12 of the top 15 teams from the region. Cal Baptist won the team title with Jessica Pascoe of Florida winning the individual title.

Next up on the schedule, is the American Conference Championships Cross Country Championships from Memphis. The race is set for 10 a.m. on Friday Nov. 1.
